What a finance department owns

Five things, done every month without being asked

Most companies get their accounting done by someone. Far fewer have a system that keeps itself current, files itself and tells management what happened. That system is what Finac runs.

Books

Bank transactions posted and matched within 24 hours. Bills and invoices captured as they arrive. Exceptions flagged the same day.

Compliance

GST, TDS, PF, ESI, professional tax and ROC each with a date and a named owner. Filed and reconciled to the books.

Payroll

Salaries computed, deposited and reported. Form 130 and Form 138 under the Income-tax Act 2025 handled on time.

Close and MIS

The month closed by a fixed working day. Sales, margin, expenses, cash, receivables and obligations in one pack, with commentary.

Cash and receivables

Ageing read weekly, customers chased on your behalf, upcoming statutory payments confirmed before they fall due.

Who needs one

The need follows complexity

A ₹3 crore company with two GST registrations, twelve employees and a lender asking for a stock statement has a finance function to run, whether or not anyone is running it. Two or more of these signs and the business is already paying for the gap in penalties, unclaimed credit and founder time.

More than ~100 bank and sales lines a monthThe bank and the books drift apart within weeks unless someone reconciles daily.
People on payrollPF, ESI, professional tax, salary TDS and Form 130 join the monthly calendar.
Two or more GST registrationsEach return cycle multiplies, and cross-charges and input credit need matching.
Investors, lenders or a parentThey expect numbers on their dates, in their format, without chasing.
Inventory, marketplaces or gatewaysSettlements, returns and stock have to reconcile to the rupee.
A founder doing finance workChasing bills, answering the accountant, guessing at cash. That is not the job you started the company for.

Questions

Frequently asked

How is this different from the accountant we already have?

An accountant records what happened and files what is due. A finance department owns the rhythm: daily posting from the bank, a weekly exception review, a monthly close on a fixed working day, payroll, the statutory calendar and the numbers management reads. Finac takes responsibility for the outcome, in writing.

Do we still need a CA?

For statutory audit, yes. An independent auditor must audit the accounts, and Finac cannot audit its own work. Tax filings, GST, TDS, payroll, ROC coordination and the monthly close are all inside the engagement.

What do you need from us each month?

Read access to the bank, bills and invoices as they arrive, and one person on your side who owns the numbers. The open-items list in Finac shows exactly what is pending from you at any time.

How quickly are the books current?

Bank transactions are posted and matched within 24 hours of the statement. Bills and invoices are posted as they reach us. The month is closed by a working day fixed in your proposal.

What does it cost?

Engagements start at ₹6,999 a month and rise with the work your business creates. The pricing page sets out the twelve drivers and six indicative bands, and the scoping flow places you in about two minutes.
